Puck Off Mental Illness
While growing up, anxiety and depression became the normal for Kyle Patterson. Today, at 24, Patterson is doing something about it so others don't have to suffer. His anxiety was triggered by food allergies. When he was s child he was told that eating certain foods could literally kill him. At such a young age Patterson was scared of eating anything, bringing on the anxiety - turning into depression. Patterson says, "Anxiety and depression took over my life at one point - and there's no worse feeling than that. This led me to missing classes and social events for many days in a row. Depression followed soon after. I missed out on countless opportunities in my life due to this. There would be days and sometimes weeks then I didn't have the strength to leave my own bedroom."
